Tribune Resources (ASX: TBR) has extended gold mineralisation at the Adiembra prospect of its Japa concession in Ghana with a short program of 30 holes intersecting up to 9 metres at 2.53 grams per tonne gold including 3 metres at 5.25g/t gold.

A line of nine holes drilled at the extreme northeast end of the prospect appear to mark the limit of the mineralised zone while the company will test the extent of mineralisation to the west where the two western most holes intersected gold mineralisation.

All of the geological, geophysical, geochemical and drilling data has being integrated and reviewed in preparation for resource definition drilling at Adiembra.

The company has also contracted a specialist structural geologist to provide advice on the geometry of the known mineralisation prior to commencing a program of diamond drilling and resuming the reverse circulation drilling.

Japa covers 27.52 square kilometres within the Akropong Belt, an offshoot of the Ashanti Belt developed within the Birimian Supergroup that hosts the most important multi-million ounce Ashanti type lode-gold deposits of West Africa.
