Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) and joint venture partner Golden Cross Resources (ASX:GCR) have identified an undrilled, 8 square kilometre, copper-gold-silver soil anomaly at their Mulga Tank project in Western Australia.

The anomaly overlays three electromagnetic conductors, which are the current subject of maiden drilling at the project.

Widespread copper mineralisation around the Mulga Tank Dunite in drill holes at conductors 1 and 2 prompted a review of the ionic leach soil geochemistry data over the area, which lead to the anomaly discovery.

This area is also partly coincident with anomalous nickel-palladium soil responses associated with a fourth conductor.

The drill rig is currently operating at conductor 3 to the immediate northwest of the Mulga Tank Dunite and is expected to reach the target depth of about 400 metres by Friday.

Following this the rig will return to conductors 1 and 2 to test down-hole electromagnetic anomalies before moving to Conductor 4.

Impact owns 20% of this project and is earning a further 50% in joint venture with Golden Cross for 70% in total.
