Vulcan Resources and Universal Resources merger receives court approval

Vulcan Resources (ASX: VCN, FSE: VUA) and its shareholders has received Federal Court approval over the scheme of arrangement, where Vulcan will merge with Universal Resources (ASX: URL).

Vulcan shareholders approved the Scheme on 29 January 2010.

Vulcan Managing Director Alistair Cowden said the company intended to lodge a copy of the court order approving the Scheme with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission tomorrow at which point the Scheme will become legally effective.

At the close of trading tomorrow, trading in Vulcan shares will be suspended on the Australian Securities Exchange.
