Golden Gate Petroleum investigates options to improve Permian oil well performance

Golden Gate Petroleum (ASX: GGP) is investigating the option of using a new compressor for its SRH-5H horizontal well in the Permian Project, Texas.

This follows a review of the gas lift system, which shows substandard operating performance from the current compressor.

Testing is continuing at various gas lift settings on a daily basis while bottom hole pressure testing is also being run to determine other causes for the current performance levels.

The company is also supporting a review of the frac program to assist with its investigations.

Average daily production for the two week period ending 15 August 2013 was 138.7 barrels of oil equivalent, down from the 145.3boe/d in the previous period.
