Air Canada (TSE:AC) has unveiled its August traffic stats and told investors it had partnered with Canadian award-winning chef David Hawksworth to take in-flight cuisine to new heights.
Traffic increased 10.1% in the month - an all-time monthly record of passenger numbers for Canada's flag carrier
The load factor was 89.6% versus 89.8% a year earlier.
Meanwhile, Hawksworth will design signature Canadian dishes to be featured on flights in International Business Class and Maple Leaf Lounges.
Hawksworth said: "My team and I are relishing the unique challenge of developing dishes that can be enjoyed at 35,000 feet."
Craig Landry, vice president of marketing at Air Canada, said: "This culinary partnership complements our investments in our state-of-the-art International Business Class product and service enhancements being rolled out across our Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner fleets."
Among dishes set to make a debut on October 1 will be a Tamari roasted sablefish main course served with bok choy, brown rice and chili miso vinaigrette.
Canada's flagship carrier is among the 20 largest airlines in the world and in 2014 served more than 38 million customers.
