Kingwest Resources Ltd (“Kingwest”) is a mining and explorations company focused primarily on gold exploration in the Eastern Gold Fields Region of Western Australia. It will aggressively explore for and extract gold in a mix of advanced, intermediate, and greenfield projects within this highly prospective district.
The Menzies area is comprised of multiple mining license, and prospecting licenses. The Menzies area comprises multiple prospects including: Lady Irene, Selkirk, First Hit, Pericles, Lady Shenton, Lady Harriet and Yunndaga.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The regional town of Menzies is located 130 km north of Kalgoorlie and is reached via the sealed Goldfields Highway.
The Menzies area is made up of a granite-greenstone assemblage, dominated by granitoid and granitic gneiss (Groenwald et al. 2000). The sequence is located within the north northwesterly trending Norseman-Wiluna greenstone belt of the WA Archaean Yilgarn Province. The greenstone belt is a northern extension of the sequence comprising the Bardoc Tectonic Zone, which lies to the south of the Comet Vale Monzogranite. Outcropping Archaean rocks comprise a minor part of the landscape, whilst much of the area is covered by regolith and Cainozoic sedimentary deposits. The Project covers an area from about 4km to the north and about 11km to the south of Menzies wholly within a NNW trending greenstone belt. The
Menzies goldfield is ~10km long being ~8.5km from Selkirk to Yunndaga and all in a mafic package with ultramafics further west, with Lady Irene being located further north. The area show extensive faulting, mainly NE/SW, however, multiple generation of faults occurs and shows intense displacement.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The Goongarrie area is located 100 km north of Kalgoorlie and is reached via the sealed Goldfields Highway. Kalgoorlie has a sealed airstrip and is serviced by regular flights to and from Perth.
The project is located on granted Mining, Exploration and Prospecting licenses forming a contiguous land package of over 20km of strike situated 40km south of Menzies in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
The project is located at the northern end of the Bardoc Tectonic Zone (“BTZ”), a major greenstone belt between Kalgoorlie and Menzies within the Kalgoorlie Terrane of the Archaean Yilgarn Craton. The tenements border the western edge of the BTZ with all deposits on or adjacent to a major NNW trending strike parallel shear zones varying in intensity from 20-200m wide. This trend continues to the Company’s Menzies gold project area to the northwest.
The Goongarrie gold project was first mined underground when the area was discovered in 1893 and modern mining and exploration was conducted in the 1980s by Julia Mines Ltd leading to the completion of 4 shallow oxide open pits that produced ~35,000 oz from shallow open cut mines until 1989. Exploration has been conducted by a number of small companies since with the most recent work in 2011/12 by Cove Resources demonstrating the potential for further mineralisation both along strike and below the very shallow historic mines.
Recent drill intercepts returned:
Further to the South within the prospect area is the Goongarrie Lady deposit which has a JORC 2012 Compliant Resource of 0.27Mt @ 2.9g/t Au for 23,900oz.
Intermin Resources also completed a Feasibility Study showing positive economics results and generating a maiden JORC (2012) Ore Reserve of 0.135Mt at 2.94g/t for 12,700 oz.
CRAWFORD AND GAMBIER LASS NORTH PROJECTS
The Crawford project is comprised of a single mining license M37/1202 covering an area of 8.9 km2, and three prospecting licenses P37/8901 – 8903 covering 2.0 km2 each. The Gambier Lass North project area covers a single exploration license E37/893 of 26.3 km2.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The regional centre of Leonora is located 260 km north of Kalgoorlie and is reached via the sealed Goldfields Highway. Leonora has a sealed airstrip and is serviced by regular flights to and from Perth.
