On August 2, 2007, Babcock & Brown Italian Port Holdings S.r.l, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBIL, acquired an 80% interest in the TRI (Estate) S.p.A group of companies. On October 11, 2007, BBI Finnish Ports Oy, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBIL, acquired the companies Rauma Stevedoring and Botnia Shipping.
