AusNiCo has dealt itself into the Australian tin sector through the merger with public unlisted company Taronga Mines. The deal provides AusNiCo with an advanced-stage project that can be brought into the development phase following the completion of a Scoping Study in 2013.
Today's results add to the 181 metres at 0.25% nickel previously intersected and boost the area of nickel sulphide mineralisation at Pembroke, moving AusNiCo closer to establishing the tonnage potential at its Queensland prospects.
Nickel sulphides are highly prized, rare discoveries. At Pembroke, AusNico's 2008 nickel sulphide discovery, shows potential for a new nickel province more than 70 kilometres long. Geophysical techniques are identifying drill targets.
