Founded Proactive Investors in 2006 as a way to channel his own views on companies listed in London and Toronto. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a full time job as the website's readership exploded over the next six months. US markets were relatively calm today, opening in the red, and staying firmly in negative territory throughout the day, though recovering somewhat from their lows.
European markets recovered much of the losses chalked up in morning trading, while US and Canadian markets fared better, steadily climbing throughout the day, ending firmly in positive territory.
Canadian markets as a whole traded sideways after the opening surge, tracking a weak start in the US, where the NASDAQ, S&P 500 and Dow Jones all lost ground.
