Magnetic Resources

Magnetic has undertaken a programme of first-pass exploration on this large and mostly unexplored tenement package with the aim of identifying the most prospective areas for further exploration. The joint venture package currently comprises exploration licences on which targets for gold, iron, nickel or uranium have been identified. In addition Magnetic has acquired several areas in its own right, prospective for iron and uranium.

Magnetic is devoting a large percentage of its current exploration effort in its iron ore projects in the wheatbelt of south western Australia.  The exploration effort ranges from first pass grassroots to more advanced projects exploring for both DSO and magnetite ores.

Progress on these exploration activities are reported regularly to the ASX.

Mr George Sakalidis - Managing Director

Mr Sakalidis is an exploration geophysicist with over 30 years industry experience, during which time his career has included extensive gold, diamond, base metals and mineral sands exploration. Mr Sakalidis has been involved in a number of significant mineral discoveries in Western Australia, including the Three Rivers gold deposit and the tenement application over the Silver Swan nickel deposit. He was also instrumental in the design of the magnetic surveys that led to the discovery of the large mineral sands resources at Magnetic Mineral Limited's Dongara Project. Mr Sakalidis was a founding director of Magnetic Minerals Limited. He is currently a director of (ASX listed companies) Image Resources NL, Meteoric Resources NL and Emu Nickel NL.
 

Mr Peter Thomas - Non-Executive Chairman

Mr Thomas is a practising solicitor with more than 26 years experience in the resource sector, both oil and minerals, specialising in the provision of general legal, contractual, commercial and corporate advice and services to both miners and explorers. Mr Thomas is Chairman of (ASX listed companies) Image Resources NL, Meteoric Resources NL and Emu Nickel NL and has served as a director of various other ASX listed companies.
 

Mr Roger Thomson - Technical Director

Mr Thomson is a geologist with 40 years experience in mineral exploration, mining geology and management in Australia, Africa, South America and Southeast Asia. He has held the positions of General Manager Exploration with Delta Gold Ltd and Sons of Gwalia Ltd and has been responsible for, or closely associated with, making economic discoveries of gold and tantalum in Australia. Mr Thomson successfully managed the exploration programme that led to the discovery of the multi-million ounce Sunrise gold deposit near Laverton in Western Australia. He is an Associate of the Royal School of Mines, a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. Mr Thomson is a director of (ASX listed companies) Image Resources NL, Meteoric Resources NL, Emu Nickel NL and (AIM listed) Mariana Resources Limited

 
Mr Eric Lim Non - Executive Director

Mr Lim is currently a senior executive officer with Standard Chartered Bank and holds the position Head of Wholesale Banking Finance, Southeast Asia. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he has held positions with OCBC Bank, General Electric and a number of executive positions in the US and Asia Pacific region including Finance Director of GE Money Japan and Global Financial Planning and Analyst for GE Commercial Finance (Healthcare Financial Services). He has also had extensive audit experience with GE Corporate Audit leading a variety of engagements ranging from process to financial audits. Eric is qualified with an MBA and a Bachelor of Accounting degree.
