Morelos Sur Project
Overview
Cayden, through its wholly owned subsidiary LC Mines, holds an unencumbered 100% interest in the Morelos Sur Gold Project.
The Morelos Sur Gold Project is located in the Nukay mining district of central Guerrero State in southern Mexico, approximately 230kms south of Mexico City. The district currently hosts over 15 million oz Au between two separate projects, and provides an excellent platform for exploration and development. The Morelos Sur Gold Project contains an 80,000 oz NI 43-101 gold resource, and the company is currently running a drill program on several targets.
Highlights:
Proven gold district with over 15 million ounces of gold
Located near major highway
Over 17,000 hectares of land in a prospective gold district
Low cost ore – In Q3 2011, Goldcorp produced 73,200 oz Au at an average grade of 0.74 g/t (cash cost $490/oz) (Data from Goldcorp's Q3 2011 Financial Statements)
Established infrastructure in place including both power and water
Previous exploration programs included limited rock sampling, drilling and geophysical data.
Quartz Mountain
Overview
Cayden Resources has optioned the Quartz Mountain silver-gold project with a right to earn either a 50% or 60% interest in three groups of Nevada silver-gold exploration properties. The Quartz Mountain project represents four distinct historical mining districts in the Nye and Mineral Counties, located in central Nevada. These consist of San Rafael, Lodi Hills, Downeyville and Ellsworth.
Historically, the Quartz Mountain district was organized in 1875 after the discovery of rich gold bearing silver-lead ores on the southeast flank of Lodi Hills. Over the next several decades, additional mines and adjoining prospects were active in development and production. In 1920, gold rich silver-lead ores were found on the northwest flank of Quartz Mountain and the San Rafael mine commenced operations. Despite some breaks in production, San Rafael produced ore from six levels of underground mining until 1957. Additional gold-silver epithermal veins and breccia targets are abound in the Downeyville area.
Highlights:
Current land position exceeds 6,000 hectares (over 60km2)
Quartz Mountain district was organized in 1875 after the discovery of rich gold bearing silver-lead ores on the southeast flank of Lodi Hills
Historic underground production of ore until 1957
The deposit styles of prime importance for exploration and development are:
Silver-gold base metal replacement deposits and veins along faults and fissures
Mesothermal gold in quartz vein stockworks in intrusive
Porphyry molybdenum-copper deposits
Epithermal gold-silver
Skarns
Scheelite (tungsten) in veins and disseminations
