Empire is an independent Australian exploration and production company which listed on the ASX in 1998. Empire’s operations are strategically focussed in Western Australia on oil and gas exploration and production in the onshore Perth and Carnarvon basins where it is the largest acreage holder in both areas. Empire is an experienced operator, dedicated to incorporating low environmental impacts in its operations, and has conducted numerous seismic surveys and drilled sixteen wells. Following the discovery of the Gingin West-1 and Red Gully-1 gas/condensate accumulations, it is commissioning the Red Gully Gas and Condensate Processing Facility near Gingin, and expects to be in production in early 2013.

Mr Craig Marshall
BSc (Hons) Geology

Mr Craig Marshall, the managing director of Empire Oil & Gas NL, is a geologist with 30 years technical and managerial experience in the petroleum and mineral industry in Australia, the United Kingdom and South East Asia, including Vietnam and Burma.

He was chairman of directors of two public companies and the managing director of the petroleum exploration company, Anzoil NL. He had an integral role in obtaining the first Production Sharing Contract in Vietnam’s onshore Hanoi Basin. Craig resigned from Anzoil in 1993 to pursue the development of coal seam gas prospects in the Bowen Basin in Queensland.

Since 1995, Craig has undertaken the development of Empire Oil & Gas NL and its Perth, Canning and Carnarvon Basin assets. The company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange 15 January 1998.

 

 Dr Bevan Warris
BSc (Hons) Geology
PhD (Geology) from the University of Sydney

Dr Warris is a petroleum geologist with 46 years technical and managerial experience in the petroleum exploration industry both internationally and in Australia.

Since 2003, Bevan has been an executive director of Empire Oil & Gas NL. He was a director of both, West Oil NL (1996-2001) and SOCDET Management Limited, and the manager of the Sydney Oil Company Drilling and Exploration Trust (1994-1996). He was general manager of Barrack Energy Limited, which discovered the Mount Horner Oil Field and the Beharra Springs Gas Field in the onshore Perth Basin (1986-1990).

Bevan was chief executive and managing director of Pancontinental Petroleum Limited, which during 1980-84 discovered two gas fields in the Amadeus Basin and four oil fields in the Eromanga Basin. He was involved in the discovery of the North Herald-South Pepper Oil fields in the offshore Carnarvon Basin.

 

 Mr Neil Joyce
BAcc

Mr Joyce is a non-executive director of Empire Oil & Gas NL. For over 20 years he was a partner in an accountancy practice, where he specialised in corporate and personal taxation consulting, prospectus registration, corporation’s legislative requirements and the Listing Rules. He has particular expertise in business acquisitions, company acquisitions and takeovers, tax effective financing and structuring of business entities, capital gains taxation and many other areas.

Mr Joyce was the company secretary of Empire from 1998 to 2011. He was appointed a non-executive director of the company in 1998. Mr Joyce chairs board meetings and provides input into the company’s accounting and financial compliance strategies.

 

 Mr Geoff Beer
BAcc

Geoff has been a chartered accountant for 20 years in public accounting providing services to corporate and business clients. He completed his degree in accountancy in 1989 at Curtin University. He specialised in audit services to clients in diverse industries whilst employed at Judge Constable Chartered Accountants for 12 years.

Geoff joined Empire Oil & Gas NL in November 2011 as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Jeffrey MacDonald
BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering from Glasgow University, 1978

Jeff has over 32 years experience working in the international oil and gas industry. He was a managing director at First Reserve Corporation, the world’s largest energy focused private equity firm. He was a founder and CEO of two highly successful independent North Sea oil and gas companies.

Following 12 years with Conoco, Jeff founded Blackwatch Petroleum Services, a successful E & P consultancy company based in the UK where Jeff directed multi-disciplined teams mostly involved with evaluation, mergers and acquisitions, disposals and financing of assets.

Jeff’s appointment as a director of Empire Oil & Gas NL in 2011 strengthens the board of Empire, adding petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering and oil business skills at both technical and board level at a time when the company is developing its Red Gully Gas and Condensate Production Facility near Gingin, Western Australia.

Mr Kim Hogg
BCom

Kim completed his Bachelor of Commerce in 1984 at the University of Western Australia and has worked in various senior management and accounting roles for a number of diverse industries. For 16 years he has been a partner of Anthony Ho and Associates, where he is principally involved in the preparation of prospectuses, coordinating the listing and due diligence processes, and acting as company secretary for listed entities.

Kim is currently the secretary of a number of ASX-listed companies and provides corporate and accounting advice and services to these clients. Kim joined Empire Oil & Gas NL in December 2011.
