Bright Future for Manganese Explorer (Presentation)
Company Statement:
Shaw River Manganese is a manganese- focused company with an outstanding short-term production profile. The Company’s exploration strategy targets large high-grade manganese deposits, with the company recently acquiring 75.5% of the Otjozondu Manganese Project (“Otjo”) in Namibia. As Shaw progresses the Otjo project to production, the company will join the ranks on only a few listed open-pit manganese mining companies worldwide, in line with the company’s strategy to become a dominant global manganese producer.
Current Operations:
Overview
• Geographical diversification, with a presence in Australia (Baramine and Skull Springs),
Namibia (Otjo) and Ghana (Butre) creating significant and diversified revenue streams.
• Maiden JORC Inferred Resource estimate of 6.8 Mt grading 23.1% manganese based on diamond
drilling at the Baramine Project in the Pilbara.
• Rapidly advancing projects with manganese grades of up to 45.8% already intersected in drilling
at the Baramine project in the Pilbara.
• $25 million raised though placement in April 2011.
• Shaw River offers excellent exposure to manganese, critical to the steel industry. Investors can
benefit from a high unit sale price and strong global demand.
Current Operations
Otjozondu, Namibia
• 3,000m diamond drilling program commenced May 2011.
• Additional RC drill rig and crew on site, with a second joining drill program in coming weeks
commencing an aggressive resources extension drill program over 7,000m.
• Scoping study has indicated strong economics from a proposed initial 250,000tpa operation
from 2012 ramping up rapidly to 500,000tpa producing a high-grade, high-quality product
using simple beneficiation methods. Manganese product grade estimated 38-40% Mn.
• Feasibility Study commenced, production of manganese planned in 2012.
Butre, Ghana
• 5,800m drill program completed. Results expected July 2011.
• Bulk sampling of manganese source material and beneficiation testing to commence during
September 2011.
• Initial drilling at Butre produced results including 26m at 21.2% Mn.
• High-grade gold also intersected at Butre, including 2m at 61.7gpt
Baramine, WA
• Baramine geology very similar to Woodie Woodie manganese project, 80km to the south-east.
• Baramine has an exploration target of 10 Mt – 15 Mt grading 18-25% manganese. Recent drilling
at Baramine has identified that the geology hosts high-grade manganese of more than 40% and
the potential for direct shipping grade discovery.
• 7,500m drill program commenced in May 2011. Results expected in August 2011.
