With US$8.5 million raised through a share placement, a loan of up to US123 million secured under a partnership with Asian commodity trader Noble Group, plus a substantial increase in Noble’s off-take contract and Noble appointed supply chain manager and exclusive marketing agent, Resource Generation has de-risked the Boikarabelo mine development even further.

Resource Generation is moving steadily along the path to production from its Boikarabelo coal project in South Africa with construction started and financial due diligence complete. Importantly, no material issues have been identified that will affect the development or the financing of the mine.

Resource Generation will continue to advance the development of its Boikarabelo coal mine, securing A$20M in funding from Hong Kong's Noble Group. The company has also snared a 2.5MT offtake deal with Noble and will begin discussions regarding a strategic marketing alliance.

Resource Generation is well on its way to securing formal credit approval with the mandating of several banks and financiers to provide project debt finance. Once credit approval is obtained, the company will aim to complete a capital raising by mid-December 2012, to enable development of the Boikarabelo mine to begin in January 2013.

Resource Generation has significantly reduced the estimated capital cost of its Boikarabelo coal mine in South Africa by US$120 million, which in turn will reduce the amount of equity funds required to develop the project. This is a positive step in simplifying the funding and construction phases of stage one of the mine.

South Africa
Coal is the major source of energy in South Africa. Production from existing mines is limited and there is expected to be an imbalance between supply and demand over the next ten years. The Waterberg coal field contains approximately 40% of South Africa’s remaining coal resource and is considered to be the main source of coal in the future.
Waterberg Region
We were attracted to the Waterberg region because of the accessibility and quality of its coal.
The Boikarabelo coal seam is between 20 and 30 metres below the surface, enabling low-cost, open-cut mining. The seam is between 120 and 130 metres thick, with zones of varying quality thermal and soft coking coal.

Cameroon
Desktop studies of historical information indicate that the tenements may be prospective for sandstone-style uranium deposits. Historically the data shows that the areas comprise radiometric geophysical anomalies, and geochemical uranium anomalism in either soil samples, stream sediment samples or rock chip samples.
Cameroon Project
Tenders for aeromagnetic surveys are being considered however given the difficult regional location a number of factors surrounding access have to be considered if the work was to proceed. It is envisaged that these surveys or failing them some further regional work may be undertaken to assist in evaluating future potential.

Mr Warner has considerable experience and skills in both the mining and finance industries. He recently retired as the senior resources analyst at Citibank, a position he had held for 6 years. Brian is a metallurgist and in his early career worked with Peko Wallsend, Agnew Nickel Mining and Seltrust as a metallurgist, project manager and operations manager. His last 20 years were as a senior mining research analyst with several international merchant banking groups including Citibank, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Geoffrey (Toby) Rose

Toby is a geologist with more than 45 years experience in the NSW coal and minerals industry. He was awarded the Order of Australia for contributions to mining and minerals research. For 10 years until 1992 Toby was Director General of the New South Wales Department of Mineral Resources and Chair of the Mines Subsidence Board.
