Dr Ken Maiden – Executive Chairman

Ken is a geologist with 38 years of professional experience with major resource companies (CSR, MIM), as an academic (University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg) and as a mineral exploration consultant. He has extensive base metal exploration experience and has participated in successful exploration programmes in South Australia, Queensland, Namibia, Botswana and Indonesia.

In recent years, Ken has been active in establishing a number of exploration companies. He is a founding Director of International Base Metals Limited, from which Zamia Gold Mines was spun out as a separately-listed company in early 2007.Ken was appointed Non-Executive Director of Zamia in May 2007, became Managing Director in November 2009 and was appointed as Executive Chairman in May 2010.

Andrew Skinner – Non-Executive Director

Following 8 years in the corporate tax division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers Andrew moved on to spend the next 15 years practising as an independent superannuation and business taxation consultant.

A partner of MAST Advisors, Andrew is now regarded as one of Australia’s foremost superannuation experts. He has represented the Taxation Institute and the Institute of Chartered Accountants on the National Superannuation Liaison Committee and served on many committees and forums for both industry and government.

Across these roles Andrew has had extensive experience in the formulation and implementation of superannuation law. He has published extensively and presented to senior forums for over 20 years on superannuation law and taxation practice

Chen Qiang - Non Executive Director

Chen Qiang holds a Masters Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Science and Technology in Beijing and is Managing Director of West Minerals Pty Ltd, the Company’s cornerstone investor.

Mr Chen has extensive experience in international commodities trading and private equity investment.  In 1996, he established PT Group, a specialised global trading house, and in a decade built up the company into a well-known iron ore trading company.  In 2002, he established Brownstone Group, a private equity investment company, with interests in Australia and China.

Alan Humphris - Non-Executive Director

An investment banker with more than 30 years experience in domestic and international markets, Alan specialises in corporate finance and advisory services.

He is Managing Director of Balmoral Capital Pty Limited.  Previously he was an Executive Director of Hambros Australia Limited and Head of Hambros Corporate Finance, and earlier he was a Director of J P Morgan Australia Limited.  Mr Humphris is a Non-Executive Director of ASF Group Limited and Rey Resources Limited
