The principal activity of Greatland Gold plc is to explore for and develop natural resources, with a focus on gold. The Company was established in London during 2005 and admitted to AIM in July 2006.
The board seeks to increase shareholder value by the systematic evaluation of its existing resource assets, as well as the acquisition of suitable exploration and development projects and producing assets.
The Company operates in Australia where it has three projects covering a total area of approximately 450sq km. The projects are located in Tasmania and Western Australia.
The Firetower project in Tasmania, is the company’s primary focus. It has high-grade gold mineralisation at surface and drill intercepts up to 30g/t gold. Mineralisation remains open in all directions. The second project of Warrentinna lies in the north east of Tasmania and covers three historic goldfield with numerous old working. High grade gold has been identified in these areas. A third project of Lackman Rock in Western Australia is prospective for both gold and nickel sulphides.
Greatland has a UK based board of directors including Chairman, Managing Director and Finance Director with a head office in London, supported by a Technical Director in Perth, Western Australia. The Tasmanian operations are managed from offices near Launceston.

Current Operations:
The company has three mineral projects, all located in Australia and focussed on gold. Two project areas of Firetower and Warrentinna are in Tasmania, and a third project of Lackman Rock is in Western Australia.
Each of the properties are located close to many large, world-class gold and base-metal deposits. All of the projects are 100% owned by Greatland, and were previously operated by major mining companies.
Australia has all the advantages of established infrastructure, skilled mining workforce, a resource based economy and political stability.

The projects range in development from advanced exploration with a gold resource at the Firetower project, through prospects with identified targets at Firetower and Warrentinna, to a gold and nickel prospective grass roots area at Lackman Rock. Total ground coverage is approximately 450sq km.
The company’s main initial focus is the Firetower and Warrentinna projects where a large proportion of the exploration efforts will be drilling to identify and expand the resource base.
FIRETOWER GOLD PROJECT
The Firetower project is located 65km west of Launceston, and 35km south of Devonport, in northern Tasmania. The project area comprises three contiguous tenements that cover a total area of 152sq km.
The project covers rocks equivalent to those of the Mt Read Volcanic sequence, which hosts the world class base metal deposits of Mt Lyell, Hellyer, and Rosebery; and the large Henty gold deposit. (Read More)

In the late 1970s Andrew Bell was a natural resources analyst at Morgan Grenfell & Co. His business experience encompasses periods in fund management and advisory work at financial institutions including Grieveson Grant & Co and Phillips & Drew, corporate finance in Hong Kong, and private equity. Andrew Bell is currently Chairman of Regency Mines plc and Red Rock Resources plc, companies trading on AIM.
Andrew's primary responsibilities are to sit on and chair the main board of the company and to provides support and advice to the other members of the board.

Callum Baxter is a geologist with over fifteen years global multi-commodity experience and is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has developed considerable experience in the natural resources sector as an exploration geologist with companies that include Hunter Exploration NL, Equinox Resources NL and Eagle Mining Corporation NL. Latterly he was a director and principal geologist for Baxter Geological a mineral exploration services and management support consultancy.
He is primarily responsible for carrying out the policies of the board of directors on a day-to-day basis and assist with technical matters.

Paul Askins is a generalist mineral explorer with considerable experience in the exploration of gold and base metals in Australia and internationally. His experience has been gained from working for companies that include Billiton in Australia, covering all aspect of exploration over a fourteen year period, and as exploration manager for Central Kalgoorlie Gold Mines NL. He currently is an independent consultant advising companies that include Avoca Resources Ltd, Heron Resources Ltd, Capricorn Resources Australia NL, Minorco Aust Ltd, Portman Mining Ltd, Homestake Gold Aust Ltd, Alcaston Mining NL, Placer Pacific, Quaestus Ltd, and A1 Minerals Ltd. Paul is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Geological Society of Australia, the Society of Economic Geologists Inc and the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits.
Paul's primary responsibility is the technical direction of the company.

John Watkins is a chartered accountant and a former partner of Ernst & Young and Neville Russell. He has experience as a public company director, and is finance director of Starvest plc, a substantial shareholder of the Company. Of his directorships, Starvest plc, Regency Mines plc and Red Rock Resources plc are listed on AIM. He is also Chairman of Lisungwe plc, a mineral exploration company traded on Ofex.
He is primarily responsible for financial planning, management of financial records and overseeing communication of financial performance and forecasts to the wider community.
