Description
Afren is an independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company, established in 2004 by a founding team including Dr Rilwanu Lukman, the former secretary general and president of OPEC. The objective is to build an attractive, diversified and balanced portfolio of African assets, with an initial focus on the Gulf of Guinea region. Following a successful Initial Public Offering ("IPO") on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange on 14 March 2005, Afren has rapidly developed its portfolio to include a combination of high impact exploration, near term development and low cost exploration opportunities.
