Condor Nickel identifies potentially significant iron ore at Dingo Range
Western Australia nickel explorer Condor Nickel (ASX:CNK) reports Dingo Range exploration drilling continues to indicate the potential for a significant iron ore resource.
Sampling on E53/1380 and E53/1377 was carried out over a total strike length of approximately 14km and within an estimated area of 5.8 sq km.
Of 52 samples taken, 42 samples (80% of samples) assayed over 50% Fe; and 21 samples (40% of samples) assayed above 55% Fe.
The geology of the Target Areas includes a Banded Iron Formation which has significant continuity within the Dingo Range greenstone belt and is the probable source of the secondary iron surface enrichment.
It is proposed that further geological and geophysical mapping in the field is required to locate the iron-rich layers of the Banded Iron Formation and to identify reverse circulation drill targets to enable assessment of iron ore potential at depth.
The Dingo Range project is located in greenstone belt, 450 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and 150 kilometres south east of Wiluna.
