Active Energy manufactures, markets, distributes and installs the voltage optimising product known as the VoltageMaster. The company is committed to developing its UK manufacturing base in order to supply the UK and European markets.
Cinpart changes name to Active Energy Group from August 2
Cinpart PLC (LON:CINP) said all resolutions put to today’s AGM were passed, including the proposed name change to Active Energy Group PLC, and it expects trading under the new name and the new code AEG to begin on August 2 2010.
Cinpart is a holding company that owns 72.2 percent of Active Energy Ltd. Active Energy manufactures and supplies the VoltageMaster, a device that can reduce electricity consumption in commercial buildings by up to 20 percent.
Other wholly owned subsidiaries in the Group include Derlite Co Ltd; based in Thailand, an international manufacturer of electrical and non-electrical components specializing in ignition systems for gas appliances and Gasignition Ltd; a trading company supplying electrical components to small and medium-sized European gas appliance manufacturers.
Active Energy owns the rights, intangible assets and intellectual property of VoltageMaster, a range of voltage optimisation equipment for commercial buildings that reduces voltage, and consequently energy consumed.
Earlier this month, Cinpart has raised £1.39m through a placing to help fund sales and marketing efforts in the UK.
The equipment is designed to be installed in factories, hotels, schools, offices and hospitals to save energy. Firstly, it is non-controversial since it is simply a piece of equipment that is installed, out of sight, in a switch room. Secondly, it is largely maintenance free and is designed to work for at least 15 years.
In the UK, Active Energy has a significant strategic partnership with Southern Electric Contracting Ltd (SEC) - a Scottish & Southern Energy (LON:SSE) business. Through the arrangement the VoltageMaster became the preferred voltage optimisation device for the commercial clients of SSE’s contracting unit. Additionally, SEC became Active Energy's preferred installation sub-contractor.
Cinpart is also planning to push its voltage optimisation technology into the US markets. It has signed a number of MoUs with influential partners, as well as selecting a site for a new US-based assembly facility in Ohio. The focus of the US marketing push will be on schools, prisons and other local authority buildings.
