Paladin Energy exhales: Uranium One selling shares
Paladin Energy Ltd (ASX: PDN) has been notified by Uranium One Inc, (TSX: UUU) in its release to the Toronto Stock Exchange on 8 June 2010 that it had "sold substantially all of its previously acquired shares of Paladin."
"Paladin welcomes the decision of Uranium One Inc to dispose of its interest in Paladin."
This would leave Paladin with an open share register, and one of the last fully independent, publically listed pure play uranium producers in the world.
Australian junior uranium miner, White Canyon Uranium (ASX: WCU, TXS-V: WU), which is also listed in Toronto has commenced production of uranium from its Daneros mine in Utah is also an independent producer.
Energy Resources of Australia (ASX: ERA) is one of the largest uranium producers in the world, is 68% owned by Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO). ERA has been mining uranium ore from two deposits and producing uranium oxide at the Ranger processing facilities in the Northern Territory of Australia.
