Shrink Nanotechnologies Inc (OTCBB: INKN) today announced a strategic alliance with Inabata America Corporation to market and sell the Company's OptiSol Solar Concentrator technologies and ShrinkChip Rapid Prototyping Solution (RPS). Inabata America Corporation is a subsidiary of Japan-based Inabata & Co., which in 2008 had $5 billion in sales.

Shrink Nanotechnology is a FIGA™ organization. FIGA companies are "for profit" businesses that bring together diverse contributions from leaders in the worlds of finance industry, government and academia. Shrink's solutions are designed to be ultra-functional and mechanically superior in the solar energy, environmental detection, stem cell and biotechnology markets.

Shrink has created the ShrinkChip Manufacturing Solution(TM) which utilizes the unique characteristics of PolyShrink(TM), Shrink's core multi-grade plastic material. Made from a unique shrinkable thermo-plastic material, PolyShrink(TM) enable complex ultra-functional nano-structures to be designed at the macro-scale and shrunken down, while retaining the original designs on a much smaller nano scale.

The OptiSol enhances the capabilities and efficiency of existing solar cell designs by focusing and tuning the incident solar radiation from the sun for optimal silicon absorption, with less of the total spectrum lost as heat or reflection. Traditional silicon solar cells absorb only a small fraction of the total incident solar radiation potential, with a majority of the light either reflected or converted to thermal energy.

Shrink Nanotechnologies CEO, Mark L. Baum commented on the deal which he expects will be the beginning of a ‘long and prosperous’ relationship with the Japanese technology developer;

"With an innovative approach to selling, our strategic alliance with Inabata is an ideal relationship which focuses on first gaining acceptance with the R&D departments of market-leading corporations and bringing our products to market faster by bypassing the business development stage,"
