Sandvine launches new version of Fairshare Traffic Management software

Sandvine Corp (TSX: SVC; AIM: SAND) announced the release of the 2.0 version of its Fairshare Traffic Management product, saying it has been deployed in four service provider networks worldwide.

The broadband network software provider for cable, DSL, FTTx, fixed wireless and mobile operators said FTM 2.0 includes enhancements to its Service Delivery Engine platform  to to address the evolving needs of tier one network providers.

The product includes reporting capabilities that support network capacity planning and improved congestion detection capabilities as well as platform scalability to 1 million subscribers per server.

“As Internet usage continues to evolve and rich media applications, video streaming and social networking continue to drive daily usage, networks providers are looking for advanced platforms to manage congestion fairly and offer the best Internet experience for their customers,” said Tom Donnelly, EVP marketing and sales, Sandvine.
