Impact Minerals kicks off major drill program at Botswana Uranium Project

Impact Minerals (ASX: IPT) has commenced a keenly anticipated drill program of up to 18,000 metres which is designed to test three prospects on its 100% owned Botswana Uranium Project.
Impact’s targets in Botswana have the potential to host very large deposits of uranium mineralisation in a country ranked in first place by the Fraser Institute in its 2009 survey of Mining jurisdictions in Africa.
At the Kodibeleng North Prospect a maiden drill program of up to 6,000m of RC drilling has commenced and will test an area of about 30 sq km that covers both uranium-in-soil anomalies and airborne radiometric anomalies.
At the Lekobolo Prospect up to 2,000m of infill drilling is planned to define a resource at Impact’s recent discovery in the area and will start in early June.
At the Sua Prospect up to 10,000m of aircore drilling to test significant and extensive uranium-in-soil anomalies will start in late June.
A down-hole radiometric probe will be onsite for the programme to allow results to be reported to the market in a timely manner.
