Diamond recovery firm Golden Saint (LON:GSR) said full results of the analysis of its recent batch of samples are expected by June.

The company sent 35 stream sediment samples from the Moa project plus 43 stream sediment samples and three bulk samples from the Baja project to Diatech Heavy Mineral Services for analysis. The company revealed in a quarterly operational update that initial examination of the bulk samples recovered a 0.348 carat diamond.

During the first quarter, preparation was carried out at the Tongo licence area for the planned bulk sampling programme. In conjunction with this programme, site preparatory work is underway at a nearby location within the Tongo licence area for the next bulk sampling programme.

In the current month, a broader exploration programme commenced in all three of Golden Saint’s project areas: Tongo, Moa and Baja.

Each programme comprises soil sampling; identification and mapping of all artisanal workings; and following up on the airborne magnetic survey and heavy mineral analysis results.
