Renascor Resources Limited's (ASX:RNU) flagship project is the Arno Graphite Project, located within South Australia's Eyre Peninsula.
Recent drilling by Renascor Resources (ASX:RNU) and assay results returned from its flagship Arno graphite project in South Australia suggest that Renascor may have found a thick, near-surface body of high-grade graphite of significant scale.
The shallow, high-grade results were returned from a 24-hole reverse circulation drill campaign at Arno in the Eyre Peninsula.
The graphite mineralised zone may extend eastwards for up to 3 kilometres and north for 1 kilometre at the Siviour prospect.
To date, the Siviour prospect appears to be building nicely in scale, with near-surface intersections of high-grade, coarse-flake graphite now found over an extensive area.
Significantly, with the Siviour open in three directions, the prospect could be a subset of a much larger graphite domain.
Time and drilling as well as metallurgical testing of Siviour, will be the telling factors that tease at Siviour’s resource potential.
New assays returned up to 18.5% total graphitic carbon (TGC).
Others included 23 metres at 8% TGC from 12 metres, including 6 metres at 11.8% TGC from 12 metres and 7.9% TGC from 20 metres.
The graphite-mineralised zone includes a high-grade lower portion that averages 11% TGC.
A next stage program is already in planning and includes reverse circulation drilling, diamond core drilling and further metallurgical testing of the Siviour prospect.
The Arno project is well situated between Whyalla in the north and Port Lincoln in the south, and within 10 kilometres of a highway, 16 kilometres from a railhead and is on grid power.
If location is key, then Arno has it in spades. If Siviour is found to be a subset of a broader graphite domain that can be defined, with scope to define a large ore body, then establishing a commercial operation becomes an easier proposition.
The next stage will be watched with interest.
