Motive Television (LON:MTV) continues to keep the positive news flowing with the announcement of a renewal of its support contract with Italian media firm Mediaset.

The terms of the renewal agreement are in line with the support and maintenance agreement that was announced by the company on 7 October 2013; Motive's Content Express platform is behind on-demand services offered by Mediaset.

A little bit extra has been added to spice up the pot this time, however, as Motive has agreed to provide Mediaset a demonstration of the company's Tablet TV technology, which opens up the possibility of the product being launched in Italy.

Eugenio Pettazzi, chief technology officer of Mediaset Premium, said the company is looking forward to evaluating Tablet TV.

Earlier this week, Motive announced that industry veteran Drew Kaza is to oversee the launch of Motive Television’s Tablet Television services in the USA this year.

Research commissioned by Motive last month found that 33% of tablet owners questioned by the market research firm said they are “very likely” to use Tablet TV - a video television service that lets customers watch free, live and high-definition US TV channels including ABC, CBS and Fox, on their tablet.

Shares in Motive Television are up more than 7% over the last month on the back of positive news flow, including an agreement with Greek shipping firm Twin Peak to supply TV and film on demand to ship workers via their tablet devices.
