Victoria Oil & Gas adds non-exec to board

Victoria Oil & Gas (LON:VOG) has appointed power and gas industry veteran James McBurney to the board as a non-executive director.

McBurney has more than 25 years' experience advising many of the largest power and gas companies in the USA. His CV includes a stint as the head of the European Natural Resources investment banking group at Bank of America Securities in London from 2002 to 2005, which followed his role as a managing director with Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.'s Energy & Power Group in New York.

"We welcome James McBurney to the board as he brings extensive operational and corporate experience to VOG at a time when we are looking to make important steps forward developing our energy supply business in Cameroon,” said Victoria’s chairman, Kevin Foo.

“As we bring online our first gensets at customer sites and begin building our electricity supply business in earnest it is important to secure individuals of the calibre of James to help us deliver real growth during 2014. We have the capital and expertise within VOG to realise our gas supply objectives," Foo added.
