Mosman Oil & Gas (LON:MSMN) says drilling the first well of the upcoming Petroleum Creek programme will start in the first week of June.

The drill rig will be mobilised this weekend, following the initial payment to contractor Drillforce.

“We remain completely focused and on track to drill the first wells on time and on budget at the Petroleum Creek Project in New Zealand,” said John Barr, Mosman executive chairman.

“The activity reflects Mosman’s commitment to the Greymouth area with several local contractors and service providers being utilized as part of the programme."

Mosman also told investors that it has now hired a consultant in relation to upcoming applications for additional acreage, which is being made available through annual New Zealand ‘block offers’.

The company expects to announce the outcome of its applications in December.
