Rox Resources (ASX: RXL) is an exploration company with three key projects; the Mt Fisher Gold Project in Western Australia, the Myrtle Zinc-Lead Project in the Northern Territory; and the Marqua Phosphate Project in the Northern Territory.
Rox has a joint venture agreement with Teck Australia, the Australian subsidiary of Canadian mining giant Teck Resources (NYSE: TCK), to progress its Myrtle project.
Rox Resources increases Myrtle zinc-lead project resources
Rox Resources (ASX: RXL( increased the resource tonnage by 18.5% and contained Zn plus Pb metal by 14.7% for the Myrtle zinc-lead project located 20km south of the McArthur River mine in the Northern Territory.
Of the new resource 13% is in the indicated category. The resource is still open to the north and west.
At a lower cut off of 3% Zn+Pb the resource contains 43.6 million tonnes at 4.09% Zn, 0.95% Pb for 5.03% Zn+Pb.
Managing director Ian Mulholland said this is a significant resource on both Australian and worldwide scales. Geological interpretation of recent and historic drilling together with comparison with nearby world class McArthur River deposit would suggest the company is only drilling on the periphery of the main mineralised system at Myrtle.
