Vice chairman of African Consolidated Resources (LON:AFCR) Lloyd Manokore has resigned, the company said on Friday.

The company said it wants to replace the non-exec vice chairman with another Zimbabwean due to the mining firm's substantial interests in that country.

Manokore has also resigned as director of its subsidiary company to pursue other business interests.

Neville Nicolau, non-exec director, will assume Manokore's responsibilities as a member of the audit committee.

Executive chairman Roy Tucker said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Lloyd for his contribution to the board and thank Lloyd for all his work and contribution to the company since 2011.

"We wish him well in his future endeavours."
