Bandanna Energy appoints ex-Waratah Coal Executive
Bandanna Energy (ASX: BND) has appointed David Campbell as Manager of Exploration. Campbell was, from 2006 until January 2010, Vice President of Exploration at Waratah Coal Inc, which holds extensive exploration areas in the Galilee Basin, including the China First Project located immediately adjacent to Bandanna’s South Galilee Project.
Campbell has more than 30 years experience as a mining professional. He has held diverse technical positions in exploration and mining geology, particularly in the coal industry, where he has worked extensively in both Queensland and New South Wales.
Managing Director, Ray Shaw, said “the addition of David to our management team will greatly facilitate implementation of our expanded exploration program over the coming years which is in part funded by the $22.5 million SAMTAN placement made in the latter part of 2009.”
In addition to his recent management position at Waratah Coal, other previous senior appointments include Site Manager of Coppabella, Senior Project Engineer at New Acland Coal and General Manager of Baralaba Coal Project.
Previously he was also a geologist for BHP Minerals, BHP Gold and at the New Hope Group, where he worked on Australian and Indonesian coal assets. Campbell holds a B.Sc from the University of Newcastle and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
