AdEPT Telecom (LON:ADT) has been shortlisted in the best telecommunications PLC category at the 2014 UK Stock Market Awards.

The accolade comes after a terrific year for the company which saw the share price double. The group is a rarity for AIM in being both profitable and dividend paying.

Awards nominees have been decided upon by a combination of share price performance, commercial success, balance sheets and financials as well as quality of the management.

Chief executive Ian Fishwick told Proactive Investors: "It is a great honour to be shortlisted alongside industry giants such as BT and Vodafone. This shows just how far the business has come."

The two other nominees in the category are Monitise (LON:MONI) and Telecom Plus (LON:TEP).
