Metminco (LON:MNC, ASX:MNC) unveiled a series of board changes as it makes the transition to operator from explorer.
Dr Roger Higgins and Stephen Tainton join the board as directors, while director William Etheridge, who has been a director since 2009, has announced his resignation with effect from today (Oct 8).
The firm's chairman Tim Read said the board had "reluctantly" accepted his resignation.
"Bill was a founding partner and director of Hampton Mining Limited and later a director of Metminco.
"He has contributed significantly to the development of the company, and his knowledge of the resources industry has been invaluable to us."
On the new appointments, Read said both men brought strong project development and operating experience, as well as extensive business development skills which "will help drive the transition of the company from explorer to operator".
Higgins, whose career spans more than 40 years, becomes a non-exec director and brings substantial and relevant experience in the copper business, as well as significant operating experience in South America.
Tainton becomes an executive director and will head up the company's business development and exploration units.
