UK stocks are expected to open in positive ground on Tuesday.

In London spread betting firm IG Markets is predicting the FTSE 100 would open around 30 points higher, between 6,307 and 6,309.

This comes after the FTSE 100 broke its losing streak on Monday, steadying after the jolt from last Friday’s US jobs shock.

The FTSE recovered from three days of losses that saw 250 points wiped off the top share index, to start the week modestly higher.

Investors put their money into defensive stocks on the back of Friday’s shaky US jobs number that fell short of economists’ best guesses and shook markets around the globe.

Overnight, US stocks recovered from a sluggish start to end the day’s trading with the three main indices in positive ground.

The Dow edged 0.3% higher at 14,613, while the S&P 500 gained 0.6% to 1,563 and the Nasdaq Composite was up by a similar margin at 3,222.
