Alamar Resources shares spike almost 25% after commencement of drilling at Yandal Gold Projects

company news image

Shares in mineral resource explorer and developer Alamar Resources (ASX: ALG) shot up almost 25% after the company announced it had kicked off the planned 6000m drill program at Yandal Gold Project, located approximately 70km south east of Wiluna in Western Australia.

During the afternoon trade, shares in the company jumped 24.3%, or 4.5c, to 23c,

The program, which should take about three weeks to complete, consists of approximately 150 holes of both RAB and Aircore.

The Company’s Yandal gold projects comprise 3 contiguous claim groups, located within the Yandal Greenstone Belt of the Archaean Yilgarn Craton.

Alamar currently holds an 80% interest in the Mandilla Well project and can earn up to 75% of the Maitland Joint Venture project by spending approximately $330,000 on exploration over 3 years. It also has a 100% interest in a number of tenements surrounding and along strike of the Corboys historic line of workings.

Collectively the projects cover a 20km strike length of prospective sheared granite-greenstone contact mapped as the Barwidgee Fault. Within Alamar’s tenure the sheared contact is partly concealed by transported alluvium and colluvium and has only been sparsely tested by drilling over much of its length. Alamar plans to drill the least well tested segments of the sheared contact with approximately 6000m of RAB and Aircore drilling.

Alamar is currently focussed on its Western Australian Mandilla Well and Aragon Joint Venture gold project, located in the highly prospective Yandal greenstone belt which hosts major gold deposits such as Bronzewing, Nimary – Jundee and Mt McClure.
