Global Nickel Investments completes soil sampling program at Jutson Rocks

Australian-based exploration company Global Nickel Investments (ASX: GNI) has finished up an auger soil sampling program across the Jutson Rocks Project, located north east of Laverton in Western Australia.

A total of 590 samples were taken along 16 east-west oriented sample lines.

Shares in GNI increased 8% to 5.4c during the morning trade.

The soil samples are now at the laboratory being analysed and these results will be announced to the market, as soon as they are received.

This soil sampling program was designed to infill areas of historical wide spaced sampling at the Jutson Rocks, Rutters Soak, Langs Find and Mt Cumming South prospect areas where the Company is exploring for a combination of gold, nickel and platinum group element mineralisation.

A helicopter VTEM survey across the Jutson Rocks Project area was commissioned in mid-December and it is anticipated that the helicopter VTEM survey will be completed by mid-January 2010.

Managing Director Benjamin Heath Cooper said the results from the current soil sampling program would be used in conjunction with previous soil sampling data and results of the helicopter-borne VTEM survey, to identify priority targets at the Jutson Rocks Project for drill testing during early 2010.

"The company looked forward to releasing the results of the soil sampling program shortly and providing further progress reports as information becomes available," Mr cooper said.
