Computacenter sees first half profit ‘well ahead’ of last year’s

Computacenter PLC said group profitability for the first four months of the year was well ahead of the same period last year and therefore it expects first half profit to be well ahead of the figure achieved last year.

Shares were lifted by the news, and traded up more than 5 percent in midmorning deals.

In a statement ahead of the AGM later today, chairman Greg Lock said: “While much remains to be done in the remaining eight months of the year we are encouraged by this positive start to the year.”
