Entertainment One (LON:ETO) reported that a number of major Asian broadcasters have bought broadcasting rights for its children’s programmes.

The deals will extend its portfolio of children's programming to audiences in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.

In addition to the acquisition of the rights for Peppa Pig for all of these Asian audiences, Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom, Tractor Tom and Humf will also be shown to a number of the Asian audiences.

Chief executive Darren Throop said: These acquisitions are a crucial milestone towards making the eOne Family brands truly global and having achieved this fantastic in-road into the Asian markets, we will continue to focus on long term growth for eOne's Family portfolio.

"This, alongside the launch of the Peppa toy line in the US this month and Peppa winning the Best Television License Program of the Year category at the annual International Licensing Industry Merchandising Association awards in Las Vegas, illustrates the global appeal of Peppa and our other Family properties," he added.

Entertainment One specializes in the acquisition, production and distribution of film and television content.  The company's network extends around the globe including Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, Benelux, France, Germany, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Its current rights library is exploited across all media formats and includes more than 24,000 film and television titles, 2,700 hours of television programming and 45,000 music tracks.
