Territory Uranium shares up as exciting results from Energy Prospect unveiled
Shares in Territory Uranium (ASX: TUC) jumped 10% after the company released further exciting drill results from the Energy Uranium Prospect in the Northern Territory.
Following the announcement, shares in the company were trading at 11c.
Territory believes the new results show the potential for the shallow, sandstone-hosted uranium deposit to carry a higher grade component with results of up to 2m @ 972ppm (0.97kg/t) U3O8 returned near surface.
The new results confirm the potential for this deposit to carry a higher grade component.
A second continuous section of shallow sandstone-hosted uranium mineralisation has been defined by drilling.
Geological interpretation highlights some structural control on mineralisation which requires further drill testing.
Drilling along strike confirms mineralised potential from surface.
Costean style sampling of drill access road cuts has returned significant assays including individual samples of 507ppm U3O8 and 341ppm U3O8 within broader zones of +100ppm U3O8 grade, confirming the lateral extent of mineralisation.
Further infill, extensional and step-out drilling is being planned for the Energy Prospect in 2010.
The Energy Prospect is one of several radiometric anomalies with similar geological characteristics which have been identified within a 20km radius on TUC’s Daly River land package. In light of the recent results, Territory plans to extend its exploration activities to include these concentrated opportunities, adding to its mineral inventory
in this location.
Territory Uranium holds approximately 20,000km2 of prospective land package across 48 tenements, making it one of the biggest ground holders in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Although the Company has a primary focus on Uranium exploration, the business currently holds nine consolidated project areas across several key geological and metallogenic terrains, affording it the opportunity to diversify exploration into gold, base metals and other commodities.
