Global Nickel Investments commences major VTEM exploration survey at Jutson Rocks
Australian-based explorer Global Nickel Investments (ASX: GNI) has kicked off a major 1,215 line km helicopter-borne electromagnetic VTEM survey over the Company’s multi-mineral Jutson Rocks and Mt Cornell Projects in Western Australia.
Following the announcement, shares in the company jumped 10.5% to 4.2c.
The survey - anticipated to take between 7 and 10 days to complete – is the first electro-magnetic survey to be conducted over the highly prospective Jutson Rocks Project to test the area’s mineral profile and to generate targets for follow-up.
The project area is located approximately 125km northeast of Laverton in the Eastern Goldfields.
Previous exploration there has already defined areas of gold, nickel, copper, platinum and palladium anomalism through soil and rock chip sampling.
GNI Managing Director Benjamin Heath Cooper said no modern exploration had been carried out on the project until now, with historic assays returning amazing results like 208g/t Gold, as well as 1.31ppm Platinum, and 3.2% Copper.
“Launching a major VTEM survey across Jutson Rocks represents a unique opportunity for GNI to capitalise on advances in technology to test a large strike extent of the Archaean Mt Venn Greenstone Belt which has not been tested previously by electromagnetics,” Mr Cooper said.
GNI has commissioned Geotech Airborne to conduct the VTEM survey which will be supervised and interpreted by experienced VTEM specialists Southern Geoscience Consultants.
