Astro Resources confirms uranium prospectivity at Macphee Creek
Astro Resources (ASX: ARO) has reported that results of rock chips sampling confirm uranium prospectivity at Macphee Creek in Western Australia.
The Perth-based company undertook a geological reconnaissance trip over the northern section of the Macphee Creek exploration license area, as well as commission a field survey by independent geologist Mark Gifford, collectively forming part of the due diligence for the acquisition of Macphee Resources.
A total of 30 rock samples were submitted for independent multi-element analysis which included uranium and thorium using Fire Assays, Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Optical Emission Spectrometry and Mass Spectrometry.
The program uncovered a new location of uranium mineralisation discovered, extending the presence of uranium throughout the region.
Meanwhile, the company reported that a low level detailed aerial radiometric and magnetic survey over Macphee Creek will kick off today.
