Global Nickel Investments Further Consolidates Ground Holding at Jutson Rocks Project
Global Nickel Investments (ASX: GNI) is strengthening its foothold on the Jutson Rocks area of Western Australia by acquiring a 99% interest in three exploration licence applications from private company Mt Vetter's.
Known as the Jutson Rocks West Project, the three exploration licence applications adjoin the western side of the Company’s current Jutson Rocks and Mt Cornell project areas.
Jutson Rocks is located 125km north east of Laverton in Western Australia.
The rocks are all part of the Archaean age Mt Venn Greenstone Belt, which is elongated in a north north west orientation.
The Mt Venn Greenstone Belt is 60km long, of which 55km of the strike length is within the current GNI project area.
The new exploration licence applications acquired contain mapped extensions of the Mt Venn Greenstone Belt.
GNI managing director Benjamin Cooper said the company considered the Mt Venn Greenstone Belt to be prospective for gold, nickel sulphide and platinum group metal discoveries.
Last week, GNI penned a deal to acquire the nearby Mt Cornell project, also in the Jutson Rocks area.
GNI signed a Heads of Agreement to take a 90% interest in the neighbouring gold, nickel and platinum project on a joint venture basis with listed company Graynic Metals (ASX: GYN).
