Globe Metals & Mining (ASX: GBE) is an African-focused resource company, specialising in rare metals such as niobium, tantalum and rare earths, as well as other commodities including fluorite, uranium and zircon.  Its main focus is the multi-commodity Kanyika Niobium Project in Malawi, Africa, which will commence production of ferro-niobium in 2014, a key additive in sophisticated steels.

Globe also has a number of other projects at an earlier stage of development: The Machinga REE Project in southern Malawi, and the Mt Muambe Flourite/HREE Project in Mozambique.

Globe Metals & Mining to discuss Mount Muambe high grade fluorite and TREO at One2One Forum

Globe Metals & Mining (ASX: GBE) has some highly prospective African based assets including the Muambe Project in Mozambique - where the company continues to discover new zones of thick, high-grade fluorite.

Earlier in the year Globe Metals delivered a maiden high grade JORC Resource at the project of 1.6 million tonnes at 19% fluorite, equating to around 310,000 tonnes of fluorite. The final assays from the 2011 drilling discovered fluorite associated with previously reported rare earth element discoveries.

Highlights include; 49 metres at 17.5% CaF2 from the surface, and 49 metres at 2.5% TREO, including 20 metres at 3.5% TREO from the surface; ending in 3.6% TREO.

Importantly for the potential of future discoveries, all zones of fluorite intersected remain open at depth and laterally.

KBL Mining (ASX:KBL)

KBL Mining (ASX: KBL) transitioned to producer six months ago at Mineral Hill in the Cobar Basin of NSW.  Initial production has focused on copper concentrate (plus Au-Ag credits) with a clear strategy to expand into Au-Ag dore & Pb/Zn concentrates. At Sorby Hills, production is forecast to commence in mid-2013.


Altona Mining (ASX:AOH)

Altona Mining (ASX: AOH) is currently producing copper at the Outokumpu Project in Finland. In a dual company strategy, Altona is also advancing a major copper development project in Queensland - which is located near Mt Isa where well developed infrastructure is already in place.
