Seeing Machines
Seeing Machines is engaged in the research, development and production of advanced computer vision systems for research in human performance measurement, advanced driver assistance systems, transportation, biometric acquisition, situational awareness, robotics and medical applications.
Seeing Machines most advanced product is called faceLAB and provides head and face tracking, eye, eyelid and gaze tracking for human subjects within a 3-dimensional volume using a completely non-contact, video-based sensor.
Seeing Machines reports maiden profit
Seeing Machines (AIM: SEE), the imaging software systems specialist, reported its maiden profit this morning in its full year results for the year ended 30 June 2008.
Financial Highlights included revenues up an impressive 55% to A$4.4 million, profits before tax leapt to A$0.327 million (2007: loss A$0.467 million) and earnings per share climbed to 0.11 cents (2007: loss per share of 0.18 cents). Seeing Machines also confirmed that at the end of the period it had cash reserves of A$2.77 million, double the level in the previous year.
Seeing Machines boosted its cash reserves after successfully raising A$3.2 million in October 2007 to assist in the continuing development, commercialisation and expansion of its products.
Of particular note, the group’s faceLAB product achieved its highest sales ever, of A$2.51 million during the financial year.
Fulton Muir, Chairman, stated:
“The 2008 financial year, with its significant revenue diversification and revenue growth along with our maiden profit was a tremendous result for the company and provides a strong foundation for our forward development.
