YTC Resources (ASX: YTC) is focussed on the development and exploration of the high grade Hera-Nymagee Project in the Cobar district of NSW.
The company has completed the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) on the Hera gold and base metal deposit as Stage 1 of the development of the Hera-Nymagee Project. Stage 2 of the Feasibility study will look at the integration of the larger Nymagee copper deposit, located 4.5km to the north of Hera.
YTC Resources latest intercepts could increase Hera Project Reserves and extend mine life
YTC Resources (ASX: YTC) has received strong results from extension drilling at the Hera Project which could result in an increase in Reserve tonnes, reducing the time to first ore production.
The Hera Project is located 100 kilometres southeast of Cobar in New South Wales, hosted in Cobar Basin rocks which also host Cobar Management’s CSA Copper Mine, New Gold’s Peak Gold Mine and CBH Resources’ Endeavor Zinc-Lead-Silver Mine.
Drilling in the upper part of the northern Hera Main Lens has confirmed rich lead-zinc mineralisation in the area, with intercepts including:
- 10 metres at 5.4% lead, 10% zinc, 0.13 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 30g/t silver;
- 18 metres at 7.2% lead, 4.4% zinc, 0.32g/t gold and 48g/t silver; and
- 15 metres at 3.3% lead, 4.4% zinc, 0.5g/t gold and 23g/t gold.
Additionally, an intersection of 5 metres at 3.96g/t gold, 1.7% lead, 3.4% zinc and 9g/t silver located about 30 metres east of the Hera Main Lens demonstrates the potential to increase the project’s initial 7 year mine life.
CEO of YTC, Rimas Kairaitis, said: “These drill results confirm substantial tonnages of high grade lead-zinc mineralisation which can now be brought into the mining reserve as the shallowest economic mineralisation in the Hera deposit.”
“This is an important gain both in terms of the Reserve boost and in shortening the mining schedule to first ore. Meanwhile the permitting and development activities for the Hera Project are progressing nicely.”
Hera Project progress
The Environmental Assessment document for the Hera Project is with the New South Wales Department of Planning and Infrastructure for final determination, following a public exhibition period in 2011.
A Mining Lease Application for Hera was lodged on January 27 this year, and stage 1 of the earthworks is more than half completed.
