Vision-based industrial systems maker Seeing Machines Ltd (LON:SEE) announced that its chief executive and director Dr Nick Cerneaz will leave the company in July 2011.

Cerneaz has been with the company since 2005 and took over as CEO in September 2005 and led the company at the time of its listing on AIM in December 2005.

For the six years that he has been with the company he has commuted to the Canberra head office from his home in Sydney where he lives with his wife and young family.

Cerneaz and the board of Seeing Machines have agreed his tenure as CEO will conclude at the end of this contract. He has also agreed to assist the company in a consulting capacity throughout a handover period as required.

The Board is currently conducting a search for a new CEO, as it seeks to move through the next phase of growth and commercialisation.

Seeing Machines manufactures a range of world leading products from fatigue management tools through to 3D visualisation and medical technologies.

Cerneaz said: "We have successfully moved the company through an extensive period of development and laid the foundations for tremendous commercial success ahead, particularly with significant contracts established in our DSS and faceAPI businesses and strong pipelines ahead.”

Chairman Bill Mobbs added: "The board is extremely grateful to Nick for his leadership of the company throughout his tenure which was characterised by strong commitment, professionalism, drive and enthusiasm in taking the Company forward.  We wish Nick well in his future endeavours."

Earlier this year, Seeing Machines announced production license deals for faceAPI, its suite of image-processing modules created specifically for tracking and understanding faces and facial features.  It signed deals with Claro Interfaces Ltd, part of the Claro Software group of the UK and Shenzhen Super Perfect Optics Ltd (SuperD), a Chinese company at the forefront of 3D display technology.

Deals are coming in hard and fast for Seeing Machines. Prior to the latest faceAPI deals, it had been in the news mostly for the rapid progress it is making with signing mining industry clients and distribution partners for the DSS driver monitoring equipment which directly monitors the driver of a vehicle for distraction and fatigue events and provides a series of interventions aimed at managing these events and averting potential operator caused accidents.
