Aussie Q Resources intersects molybdenum and copper at Rawbelle project in Queensland
Aussie Q Resources (ASX: AQR) has intersected two zones of molybdenum and copper mineralisation at the Rawbelle district, thirty kilometres to the west of the town of Monto in southern Queensland.
Assay results have confirmed the discovery.
Whitewash is the most advanced target at Rawbelle, where there is a large porphyry molybdenum/copper target.
Drill Hole 09WW090, drilled 500m South of Whitewash, at Whitewash South; intersected two zones of Mo/Cu mineralization: 73m @ 484 ppm Mo, 0.14% Cu and 1.4 ppm Ag and 6m @ 452 ppm molybdenum (Mo), 0.28% copper (Cu) and 5.2 g/t silver (Ag).
John Goody executive director of AQR said the new mineralization increases the strike length of the Whitewash mineralization by 500m to 1.8km. Whitewash South is situated 500m south of the 71.5Mt Inferred Resource at Whitewash / Gordons.
Goody said AQR will follow up on the discovery by aggressively exploring this and other potential extensions to the Whitewash ore body.
He said visible malachite (copper carbonate) was uncovered by dozer at a prepared drill site 100m east of the present drilling at Whitewash.
