AusQuest

AusQuest increases Rocklea iron ore resource by 68% in Western Australia

AusQuest (ASX: AQD) has picked up the pace at its Rocklea Channel Iron Ore Project, 40 km west of Tom Price in the Pilbara in Western Australia.

The new updated inferred resource at Rocklea is 63.1 m/t grading 53.4% Fe (60.4% calcined). This also includes at higher grade component of 28.2 m/t grading 55.6% Fe.

AusQuest has an additional Exploration Targets of up to 10.9 million tonnes for the lower grade case and 3.9 million tonnes for the higher grade case at similar grades to the Inferred Resource for the Rocklea Prospect.

The resource looks capable of being extended to the south and east of the current resource boundary - as there is an additional 1,000 metres of potential strike length not yet been drill tested.

Metallurgical test-work indicates that iron grades could be upgraded by removing fine fraction from the more clay rich sections of the channel iron materials in the resource.
