Medical Australia (ASX: MLA) has landed another strategic distribution agreement by signing with Haemonetics, a global leader in blood management solutions.
The best part of the agreement for Medical Australia is that an immediate revenue stream will be generated from supplying blood bag sealers.
Added to this, Medical Australia also has the opportunity to distribute a broader range of blood processing products, while pursuing new distribution and original equipment manufacturing (OEM) agreements.
Mark Donnison, chief executive officer of Medical Australia, said “This is a pleasing development for MLA.
"While we have previously distributed blood bag sealers under an ad-hoc arrangement with Sebra, which was acquired by Haemonetics in 2010, this new agreement will result in MLA distributing a much wider range of products."
Haemonetics is headquartered in Massachusetts, USA, and is well established and has operated for more than 35 years.
Donnison added that the company's recently secured OEM agreements with MediVet, Terumo and Fresenius Kabi are performing well, as revenues continue to grow month on month.
Medical Australia remains proactive in securing additional distribution agreements with discussions continuing with a number of healthcare companies.
