Entertainment One Ltd (LON:ETO) said UK licensing and merchandising retail sales for Peppa Pig in 2010 achieved a record level of more than £200 million, up from 150 million.
This success was supported by the continued growth in the sale of toys in 2010 which show that Peppa was the highest selling pre-school toy license in the UK, a position previously held by Thomas the Tank Engine for a number of years, the company added.
Along with continued growth in the UK, the popular animated series will make its US debut in February. Entertainment One announced a three year US broadcasting deal for the two time BAFTA award winning pre-school series with leading broadcaster Nick Jr. in November 2010.
Entertainment One specializes in the acquisition, production and distribution of film and television content. The company's network extends around the globe including Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, Benelux, France, Germany, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Its current rights library is exploited across all media formats and includes more than 20,000 film and television titles, 2,400 hours of television programming and 45,000 music tracks.
